Where should the envelopes go, and in what order? Choose four or six hiding places for the puzzles, then a separate place for the finale. Print your grown-up sheet with plain directions to read aloud. One room is enough to guide the group.
Rainy day? Play around a table.
Keep the adventure moving without running between rooms. The grown-up hands out puzzles one at a time.

6 puzzles + one finale · with hiding places
Start: read the game's letter, give out its log and materials as directed by the guide, then read the direction to envelope 1. It is hidden like the others.

FINAL — after the final mission
Hide the FINAL envelope here: an open fabric bag. Reveal it only after completing the game's final mission.
Read aloud: « Look inside the open fabric bag. »
After each puzzle, give the map piece required by the guide. Before the FINAL envelope, complete its final mission: for our kits, assemble the map and verify the code and symbol.
Before the children arrive
Prepare 4 or 6 puzzles and their answers, keeping the game's order.
Number and hide every envelope, including 1; hide the FINAL envelope separately.
Check each place is within easy reach and clear the walkways.
Keep this sheet, the answers and final-mission materials with the grown-up.
Try the route and explain where children may look before playing.
Keep your game's puzzle order and answers. If its guide requires particular places or transitions, follow that guide: this sheet does not rewrite them. No climbing, windows, sockets, appliances, fragile objects or blocked walkways.
An A4 preparation sheet. The game puzzles are not included.
How do you set up the route?
Prepare your game. This tool arranges hiding places and provides plain directions; it does not provide a story, puzzles or answers. For a Studio Cachette kit, choose six puzzles: hide envelopes 1 to 6 and the FINAL envelope separately. Also prepare the map pieces, log and materials listed in its guide.
Choose the hiding places. Choose distinct places within an easy-to-supervise area. Mark the chosen book or cushion if there are several. The arrows move places, not the puzzle order. Six places and a finale do not require seven rooms.
Start the search for envelope 1. The grown-up reads the game's letter and the direction to envelope 1, hidden like the others. After each answer, check the guide, give the matching map piece if the game uses one, then read the next direction. For our kits, this takes you from puzzles 1 to 6 without changing their numbers.
Complete the final mission before the last hiding place. The last answer does not immediately unlock the FINAL envelope. First complete the game's final mission. In our kits, the team assembles the map and the grown-up checks the code and symbol. Only then read the FINAL direction and the ending. Keep this sheet and the answers with you.
A small space can hold a big adventure.
For children aged 6–8, use easy-to-reach places such as an empty basket, a cushion or a marked book. Check each place in your own home. The suggestions are ideas to adapt, not a guarantee of safety.
Keep windows, sockets, appliances and fragile objects outside the game. Nothing should require climbing, and walkways must stay clear. Explain the allowed area and stay with the group.
The ‘around a table’ variation keeps the game's puzzles, answers and final mission. The grown-up hands out envelopes one at a time, then waits until the final mission is complete before giving the FINAL envelope. Only the hiding-place search is replaced; no puzzle answer is changed.
The route is ready. What about the story?
This preparation tool is free. Our paid kits add an original adventure for ages 6–8, six illustrated puzzles, a guide with answers, invitations and a certificate. 18 A4 pages per language, French and English included, from €12.
